The recent COVID-19 pandemic has affected the majoity of food businesses, with many adapting to ensure their survival. Take Knipes & Co as an example. Already an existing client of ours and benefiting from our Social Media management package, when restaurants were told to close, Mike and the team were quick to adjust and offer their wholesale ingredients to the general public for the very first time.
Alongside increased marketing and social media activity, we were tasked with building them a brand new online store that followed thier existing brand identity, would allow easy ordering, hassle-free payment and the ability for them to manage the website in-house.
Just 24 hours after initial conversations, the online store was launched with great success and thanks to our social media campaigns, their page following increased by over 1000 people in just three weeks - and it's still growing!
It was our absolute pleasure working with Knipes & Co on this quick-turnaround project and to see such great results in such a short time. A happy customer equals a happy AW Team.
We have to admit, when we were approached by UWSTD's Catalyst Project to provide some training for local food business on marketing we were a bit dubious. 'We can't give away all our secrets!' we thought. However, we're delighted that we said yes.
Catalyst is a 31-month, EU funded, pilot project that provides support to Food and Drink businesses in Ireland and Wales and is vital in providing start-ups with the much needed skills they'll require to take their businesses to the next level.
We've worked with the guys on numerous workshops including one-to-one 'surgery sessions' with food businesses and larger presentations covering more in-depth knowledge on Instagram, the importance of imagery and understanding your audience.
It has been a blast getting to meet so many driven, passionate foodies.
The feedback on our workshops and training sessions has been overwhelmingly positive and attendees have become good friends and even clients!

There are many challenges one faces when attempting to rebrand a traditional pub and we certainly came across them when asked by Tafarn-y-Deri to 'freshen up' their branding. Their aim? To target a younger customer base without alienating the existing one.
With our thinking caps on we got to work and very quickly realised that - no matter what your age - we all appreciate great pub food.
Focusing on this, our strategy was launched and we began updating all aspects of the T-Y-D brand with a new look and a clear, consistent, identifiable message across all platforms. This included some saliva-inducing food photography, paid social media ad campaigns and a full website rebuild.
The results spoke for themselves with a huge increase in brand awareness, social media engagement and of course, table bookings.
